New field type: Reveal extra text

Hi, good afternoon,
I wonder if it's possible to request a new field type: a text input box that will allow as much text as a user wishes, but then limits the number of words displayed in the listing, revealling all the inputted text when clicked / hovered over?

We have users that add a great deal of information for their jobs, but this can push all the formatting out when displayed on the listings.

Would it be possible the display the first 100 - 200 words with a button to click to expand and show the remaining text, maybe in a balloon (similar to how the comments are displayed on the listing page)?
