Problem with User Roles

Post by elviseras »

Hi, we have configured the following structure of entities and sub-entities:

Project ---> Locations ---> Assets

Within the Locations entity we have created a User Role (Asset Manager) with all access permissions for Assets modification (View All and access to Update, Update selected, Copy and Move)

Then, when User with this User Role go to Item Page, it can edit asset data fields with 'Edit' button (Ok), but problem is that the options of Update Selected, Copy and Move ('More Actions' Button) give the following error:
Access Forbidden
Sorry, you don't have access to this page.
I have reviewed access permissions in Project and Locations entities and all seems well ...

Can you check it please? It is urgent...

Try to do it in other way. In User group allows access to entity and in User Role hide it then this way should works.

I'm sorry Sergey, but that's not what I need... What I need is that a user belonging to group that does not have permissions to edit, move and copy records in that sub-entity can have them (But only that specific user, not all user group). I precisely understand that for these cases there are the User Roles since, as you say in the description, the Roles are for set an additional access to subentities, don't you think so?

In fact, it works well in some permissions (data fields with 'Edit' button) but not in others (Update Selected, Copy and Move) so I considered it a 'bug' or error...

Is possible I do not understand you well ??

Update Selected can be apply on reports where we don't have parent item ID and we can't check user role access. In this case do next:
In standard user group allow full access to Locations
Then in User roles restrict access. See attached.
In this case Update Selected will work.
Let me know.
