Search form doesn't appear if there is not input field
I don't know if this is a bug or how search operates, but search form doesn't appear in my entities if there is not added custom input field with "use for search" checked. This is strange, because you can search by ID of records. It doesn't make sense to be restricted of this and to have to add another searchable field to be able to use search by ID.

Agree. I will fix it in next release.This is strange, because you can search by ID of records.

In 2.4 field type ID will have option "Use for search?" so it will be configurable.
